Koh Phangan, Thailand





KOH PHANGAN IS LOCATED IN THE GULF OF SIAM A LITTLE NORTH OF KOH SAMUI. ABOUT 75 % OF THE ISLAND IS MOUNTAINS COVERED BY TROPICAL JUNGLE. THE MAIN SOURCE OF INCOME IN THIS ISLAND IS THE COCONUT INDUSTRY FOLLOWED BY TOURIST INDUSTRY AND FISHING.

 

HOW TO GET THERE:

From Bangkok, you can ride by bus or train to Suratthani province, and then ride a ferry boat from one of the piers in Donsak either Seatran or Raja Ferry (two local ferry operators). You can buy a joint ticket in Bangkok, in Khao San Road.

 You can also get Koh Pangan, by riding a high speed ferry boat Lomprayah Catamaran from Chumphon via Koh Tao. Lomprayah has comfortable buses from Bangkok to Chumphon.

 If you’re from  Koh Samui you have a lot of alternatives; You can Catch an express boat, catamaran or a small ferry from Nathon, Maenam, Big Buddha, Bangrak or Bo Phut. Or, if you’re in a hurry, you can ride a speed boat from Maenam or Bo Phut.

If you have a  travel agency please ask them about if they can provide a ticket for you or just go directly to the piers and buy the ticket there.
